Who can enter?
Employees of the Water Resource Research Center and their immediate family members are not eligible.
Winning photos from any previous WRRC photo contests are not eligible.
The contest is open to anyone that is loftier schoolhouse age or older on the final day a photo can be submitted; Fri, December. 17, 2021.
For high school students under 18, the permission of a parent or guardian is required in club to submit a photo(s).
The winning photographs will be featured on the WRRC website and will be recognized at the February 2022 Chocolate Fest. Many of the photographs will also appear in WRRC publications and outreach materials.
How many photos can I enter?
You may enter no more than than 3 (iii) photographs.
Photographs must be taken in Arizona*
Photos taken in Arizona must feature water, but can be taken in any function of the state.
*Special category entries can be taken exterior of Arizona but must feature water and arid lands.
The photo caption must include the location, title, and twelvemonth the photograph was taken.
Epitome format and size
Photographs must be in digital format. A photograph need non be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies or photographic prints are acceptable.
All digital files must be 10 megabytes or smaller, in jpeg or tif format, and 300 dpi.
Caption and number your entries carefully. Make sure the clarification and photo file numbers match. The explanation should include the Arizona location and when possible the date the photo was taken.
Nosotros cannot accept original negatives, prints, or slides. Any submissions in these formats will not exist entered into the contest, and will not be returned.

What rights to my photo practice I retain?
You retain ownership and all rights to your photograph; however, by inbound the contest, entrants grant the WRRC permission, royalty-free, to publish submitted photos on the Center’due south website and to reproduce images for outreach and promotional purposes. Any photograph reproduced volition include a photographer credit as feasible. The University of Arizona – Water Resources Inquiry Center will not be required to pay any consideration or seek whatever additional approval in connexion with such uses.
Can I submit photographs that have been entered in past contests?
Photos which have been entered into previous WRRC photo contests and/or other photo contests may exist submitted with the following exception: No past WRRC contest “winning” photos may exist submitted.
Do you take non-digital photographs?
We accept loftier-quality scanned images of non-digital photographs. We do not, however, accept HARD COPY prints, negatives, or transparency film (should whatever of these be submitted to us, they will non exist returned).”
Will you take negatives and/or slides?
No, just digital and or scanned images submitted electronically.
Do you have blackness-and-white photographs?

I want to submit a photo of a stranger(south) that was shot spontaneously. There is no way I will be able to go their signature for a model release. What practise I practise?
It is understandable that photographers taking pictures in public places may be unable to secure a model/subject release form, so please experience complimentary to enter your photographs in these types of situations. Please provide a detailed description of the circumstances of your photograph and we will review your entry.
When will the winning photos be announced?
The winning photographers volition be contacted by email by January, 15 2022.
Who selects the winners?
WRRC staff and guest judges volition meet to review and select the winning photographs and determine the winners.
Will I be notified if my photograph was NOT selected?
No. Due to the big number of submissions, only the finalists will be notified. If you do not hear from WRRC by January 15th, then your photo has not been selected.
What if my digital photo does not accept a resolution at to the lowest degree 300 dpi at 8 x ten inches?
Without this requirement met, WRRC cannot consider your photograph equally a possible finalist or winner in our competition.
Is it OK to enter a photograph that has been on my website?
Yes, your photograph is eligible for submission. However, photographs that have been published (except online) are not eligible.
