Excellent Learning Lens
I’ve been reading the reviews on this lens, and I am stunned to detect out that the biggest complaint is almost the AF eventually breaking. I am a professional photographer, and I was taught many years ago non to rely on auto focus. I rarely use the AF, and then I guess I don’t take to worry virtually the lens e’er breaking. I bought this lens for two reasons. 1. it was affordable. ii. I wanted to improve how I take portraits Not only did this lens do that for me, only I discovered that this lens is also

slap-up for other types of photographs. I like to use it when taking landscapes. Sure it is cool to have that wide angle look, but I prefer to go those afar vistas closer without a zoom. Also this lens is nifty for depth of field shots. Zilch libation that a perfectly in focus foreground with a colorful blurred background. If you are looking to larn more virtually Depth of Field, apertures, shutter speeds, etc, so this is a good lens as a starter. Go off the Program mode. All-time Price/Value Lens Always
I’ve read a agglomeration of reviews claiming that lens is non good and all I can say is… baloney. This is the all-time price/value lens ever. Over the flow of last 20 years I’ve seen lenses that were better (50 Serial) and much more common – worse than EF 50mm f/i.four. If at that place ever was i lens (scratch the FD 50mm f/0.95) that I would always have on my camera – this tiny precious stone would be it. In fact, it is on my photographic camera most of the time, and I shoot a lot of dissimilar pictures – landscapes, portraits, str…

Gaussian optics, combined with two loftier-refraction lens elements allow photographers working in all fields to capture well-baked, clean images, even broad open at f/1.4. The lens is ideal for photographing landscapes and travel scenes also as portraits and reportage.
Ultrasonic focusing
An ultrasonic motor drives autofocus extremely apace, and in virtually silence. First-class property torque ensures the bespeak of focus is reached accurately, without overshooting. Furthermore, total-time manual override is available, making it possible to adapt focus without leaving AF manner.
Smooth background blur
A most circular discontinuity diaphragm gives out of focus regions a softer, more uniform feel. Sharp foreground objects stand out against a smooth blurred background.
Super Spectra blanket
Super Spectra coatings ensure accurate color balance and enhance contrast. They as well reduce flare and ghosting – a common problem acquired by calorie-free billowy off a photographic camera’s sensor.
