Newspaper and Windex is the perfect combo for difficult smears, merely seriously mask (employ the pen tool) the gray smeary areas and create a imitation shallow depth of field.

Don’t over do it or it will await fake. You lot might even mask the unabridged background and requite information technology some shallow depth of field but merely a impact.

I’d surrender on cleaning the mirror. Select the helpmate and groom out of that background and put them somewhere else or simply blur the bg so you can’t see the smears. I’d also ingather and change the orientation to portrait because the bg isn’t very prissy anyway – dark and cluttery.

Ha, yep I was shocked when she showed me these. This is at a very nice hotel and it’south quite surprising that they didn’t fifty-fifty clean the mirror.

Of course, the moving-picture show isn’t nifty to begin with, which is the fault of the photographer and it’s also quite sad.

I would propose blurring the background equally well. The plants, feathers(?) behind them causes the adult female to get lost. A subtle blurring would help make them stand up out more also as make the smudges become abroad.

Might demand to blur the mirror glass expanse still more than to fully make the smudges become away.

Duplicate the layer.
Create a layer mask of the couple.
Blur the duplicated layer.

It’s likely that the smudges aren’t apparent when looking at information technology in normal weather, just the angle of the flash highlights the cleaning job the mirror got.

Exactly what the previous mail said: strobe light and a digital camera will bring out every smudge and smear on a mirror. Even what looks similar a really make clean mirror will look awful under studio lights or flash.

If you don’t want to do a bunch of masking, endeavour using the clone postage tool set to “darken”.

Either the Groom has uncommonly wide shoulders……..or there is curt guy standing between them and the mirror !

And then much wrong with this shot.
The mirror, for one.
Information technology looks like the Bride is ready to go off to Ladies day at Ascot, with a large lid off to i side.
And then there’s the guy playing hide and seek.

If it’south just this one shot, with the trouble mirror, how nearly simply doing abroad with the groundwork completely and cropping to a portrait orientation as suggested earlier ?
A very quick example on your low res sample…..

Expert work Steve. The original image is way too decorated. Of course I do have to wonder why there wasn’t more than done in the way of set upwardly before shooting. Corn said what I was thinking about the feathers perhaps more than cleverly. It was really actually giving me a migraine looking at those feathers in the back of the bride. I practise detest cropping merely this one called for it.

I remember the couple should give the picture back to the photographer and demand he sorts it out properly. Very poor movie, particularly if they were charged for it.

Yep, I was trying not to canis familiaris on the photographer too much in instance he were to happen past this thread, but that is doubtful and so I’ll get ahead and say it: his pictures were terrible. He did charge this couple and in that location are a good number of horrible pictures…information technology’due south lamentable, actually. It was 1 of those “I’k a friend and then I’ll practise it for $500” things.

I am liking the crop and remove background idea for this shot. I’m not going to fix a ton of her pics, but some of the primal ones, like them kissing, are just essential to have. SO…what is the all-time mode to do what yous have washed with CS3? Smart selector? Majic wand? Etc. Should I use the “refine edges” feature one time I take it generally done? I understand the masking but I have never been good at tracing an image.
