Preorders began on September 13, 2019, and the phone was officially released on September 20, 2019, ane 24-hour interval after the official public release of iOS 13.

Despite minimal exterior changes from the preceding iPhone XR, substantial pattern changes inside the telephone took place, including the addition of the more powerful Apple A13 Bionic chip also equally an ultra-broad dual-camera system.[7]
In October 2020, Apple halted the inclusion of both Apple EarPods and the wall adapter, citing ecology goals.[8]

Amongst the nigh pregnant changes were improvements in the cameras and the continuation of the ‘notch’ pattern around the frontal camera which dipped down into the screen, a feature started by the phone’s predecessor, the iPhone X.[12]
[13]
[14]
The official outcome invite which was sent out to developers contained a graphic featuring an Apple tree logo made of layered colored glass, implied to be the new colors for the phone. A patent filed by Apple earlier in the year also hinted at a new camera design.[xv]
[16]

Design

[edit]

The iPhone eleven is available in six colors: Purple, Yellow, Green, Black, White, and Product (Red). The tiptop of the screen retains the ‘notch’ design, wherein the TrueDepth camera arrangement and telephone speaker are encapsulated in a blackness, rounded-out rectangle that dips into the screen, like to its predecessor, the iPhone XR. An elevated surface area in the acme corner on the back of the iPhone acts equally a photographic camera housing, containing the microphone, the flashlight, and both of the rear-facing digital cameras.[17]
