Sigma 24-105 Art series w/D850

I have a D850 on pre-order and was considering the Sigma 24-105 Art series lens  as the primary lens for landscapes and general use. Wondering if anyone hither has experience on a D810 and felt it was an excellent choice?

I’ve used the Sigma 24-105 f/4 Fine art lens on my D810’s and D5 extensively under very diverse and sometimes harsh atmospheric condition. The lens has never let me downward. It’due south very sharp in the center with some fall off on the edges which is pretty much the norm for this course of glass. Sharpness and optical quality is pretty much in the same league as my Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 which was twice the price. Overall, the Sigma 24-105 f/4 has been a reliable and fantabulous lens. I wait the Sigma to perform similarly on the D850 (which I should have soon).

Thanks Tony – just the type of feedback I was looking for! I should have my D850 presently equally well.

I’m a large fan of the Sigma 24-105. Just programme on buying the dock and tuning. In the ideal world tuning should not be necessary simply having 16 tuning points (plus the one in the camera) is more than useful than having just the in-camera setting. Without the multiple points, no zoom has authentic AF across its full range.

Hither’south a sample at 105mm f4:

Heart focal length:

24mm at f4: of iceland/Reykjavik/i-SS3R4ZP/A

I’ve owned the Nikon 24-120VR and Nikon 24-70/two.8G.  Both retired in favor of the Sigma.
